

Seaman's Institute 1926/1927
One of the most successful sides in the twenties, Seaman's Institute annexed
the Junior Cup in 1925/26 defeating Chopwell at Westoe by 26-3 and then carried
on to lift the Second Teams' Cup a year later.
Ihey had carried off the League title on four occasions in 1922/23 and then
a hat trick in 1924/25, 25/26 and 26/27. In addition the clubs Second Fifteen
had just as strong a record winning the Second Division of the League on three
straight occasions in 22/23, 23/24 and 24/25. The second string were also
equally successful in the then newly presented Lormor Cup, retaining the Cup,
which was run on a knockout basis, from 1922/23 season through to 1925/26.
The club eventually amalgamated with Y.M.C.A. but folded up in 1927/1928 season.
