As with so much of local Rugby history, there are few written records of how, why or when this Competition was started.
Earliest entries on the trophy date from the 1920s., possibly
donated in the restart years of the early 20s and over the intervening 80
years this Competition has been run for youth at one age level or another.
Currently a Schools competition it has at different times been competed for
by Schools at u 15s, Under 21s and today is an under 15s Tens Competition.
